Day 24 Weigh In Day - A Little Progress

Good Evening -

Today was Weigh-In-Day, and here's the progress. A total loss of .8 pounds. I was sure hoping for more as the last two weeks were so great! Nevertheless, I have to focus on the fact that it was more PROGRESS!

Here's the Weeks:

Day 1 - 235.8
Week 1 - 233.2
Week 2 - 226.8
Week 3 - 226.0

Total to date - 9.8 pounds.

My goal going in was a minimum of 1.5 pounds per week, so I'm way ahead of that 4.5 which is my minimum goal. There, now I feel much better!

This morning I gave the scrambled eggs/cottage cheese/smoked salmon a try. Calories equal 334. The cottage cheese seemed to make the eggs seem somewhat lighter. It was good enough, but not great. I probably won't do that again. As to the smoked salmon with it, I don't know what the big deal is, and I definitely won't put the salmon with the eggs again. The rosemary on the plate is just there to make the picture pretty.

As I mentioned yesterday, I was going to make the broccoli soup today, but the cashews that were supposed to go in it turned out to be honey roasted, so I'll give the cashews away and get the right kind tomorrow. Long and short of it, I ended up with another chicken cobb salad from Farmer Boys. I had half for lunch and half for dinner. Even though the picture below shows bacon in the salad, I have them leave it off, due to the high calories. Calorie count, just under 662.

Total for the day = 996. Still way under the daily recommended. I must try real hard to lose at least my 1.5 pound minimum for next week.

And speaking of cashews, did you know that just a small handful of cashews has nearly as much protein as a large egg? Eating cashews regularly has been shown to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes. Here's something that the National Geographic says, "While calorically dense, cashews can be part of a successful weight-loss plan if consumed in moderation." Then that means it's ok to put them in my broccoli soup!

Meanwhile - tomorrow morning, it's back to cereal as I have an early appointment, then a stop into the grocery store as I'm going to make my Mexican Bean Casserole on Thursday - daughter and kids are coming to visit and help clean out the shed. OH! That's right! I'll get to chase the kids around, that will help with burning calories!

Have a great evening all!
