The Day Before the Beginning


Here we go! The night before my beginning. The photos you see above will give you the idea of where I am and where I'm going. The top is where I am - over 200 pounds. I'll report the real weight tomorrow after I step on the scale. The second photo is me about 30 years ago, at about 135 pounds - Yes, I'm the one in the middle.

About 7 years ago I quit smoking - GREAT move to improve my health. About the same time I divorced my husband. Let me tell you - quitting smoking and quitting a marriage totally creates weight gain - as is evidenced.

Although the smoking cessation is the best thing I did health-wise, and it was easier than I thought, this weight loss is going to be probably the most difficult thing I've done in in my life! I have learned one thing, the hardest part of choosing to do anything is to MAKE UP YOUR MIND to do it. The rest comes easy. Well, here I am at the beginning of 2016 and tomorrow is the beginning of my journey.

How am I going to do it? I am not sure. Yes, I know - change eating habits and exercise more. Got it. I have already stopped with the Starbucks and with the ice cream - goodness, I love the salted caramel ice cream. Tomorrow, I am giving away or throwing away anything that resembles sweets in my household. I'll start with a breakfast of either a hard boiled egg or a poached egg and toast. Then we'll progress from there. This blog will hold me accountable.

Stay tuned - tomorrow will first give you my weight as I begin this program. Then I'll share my plan as I progress. This MUST take place. Onward and DOWNWARD! Here we go!
