Here's a little something I'm doing that might be helping. I've gone back to using the small spoons instead of the larger spoons. Maybe it just helps to eat slower, not sure, but any little thing helps.
This morning's breakfast - Raisin Bran Crunch (248 calories including the milk) and a banana (105 calories).
Look! There's that sneaky peacock again!
Total Breakfast Calories - 353
Did you know that bananas are actually classified as berries? I didn't know that either!
It's a "stay-at-home" day today and as promised, I had the other half of the chicken cobb salad with a couple tablespoons of the honey dijon dressing for lunch,.
Total Lunch Calories - 537
This "stay-at-home" business is not good business for weight loss. You know what happens when you're stuck in front of the computer and on the phone for long periods of time. One gets the muchies! One of those Kind Bars like I had yesterday was added to my intake today.
Snack Calories - 140
So, I'm thinking of making something warm and comfortable to enjoy. I figured that Chicken Noodle soup would fit the bill. Before heading off to the grocery to get ingredients, I did a little research. The first surprise is: 1 cup of boiled egg noodles equals 221 calories! Ummm, I don't think that's a good plan. I have learned in the past, when cooking chicken (noodle) soup that cabbage added in is really quite tasty, so I checked the calories for 1 cup of boiled cabbage - get this - 34 calories! Hey now! No noodles on my shopping list, but a definite for the cabbage.
Also reviewed the other ingredients that I anticipate using in the soup. All calorie counts are per one cup of boiled product.
Carrot - 52 calories
Onion - 7 calories
Celery - 27 calories
Fat Free Chicken Broth - 9 calories
Skinless Chicken meat - 248 calories
Total calories including the cabbage - without noodles - 377 - Of course a bowl of soup would be less, as we have a total of 6 cups of ingredients to achieve the 377 calories. Sounds like cooking up some chicken cabbage soup is in the works for this weekend!YUM!
AND, another snack attack hit at about 3:30. It's been said that the best way to eat is like 5 small meals a day, so it we're right on track. Out came the small fuji apple. It looks great sliced into tiny slices, more crunching and takes longer to eat! My goodness, look who showed up once again! One hungry peacock!
Calories in one medium Fuji apple are 80. I ate about 1/3 of them and put the rest in the refrigerator for another time.
Snack Calories - approx. 50
It seems that the late apple topped it off for me. Possibly a little later tonight a little craving will happen, if so, it looks like some raspberry yogurt will do the trick.
Without the yogurt or my glass of wine today's calorie count is still really good!
Today's total - 925
And here's your little tidbit of interesting food info for today. This showed up on my Facebook news feed today:
Is this true? Some of it yes and the scary part no! Read here:
Tomorrow - out to lunch - now that's going to be a new challenge! Then stop at the grocery store for ingredients for the chicken cabbage soup! It'll be another fun day.
